I am creating and branding a graphic design event that consists of illustration, typography and animation aimed towards university students. During the three day event, each day will consist of key speakers in the morning, workshops after a short break and portfolio surgery after lunch.
I wanted my brand to be professional, academic and clean cut so came up with the name Process, which fits the description. The tag line reads “The mechanics of design” which tells the reader that the event is all about the process of design. When designing my logo I played on the shape of cogs to highlight the mechanics in the strap line, just like the cogs in a designer’s head never stops.
Along with the brand there is a website, 4 posters and a publication as they are the medias that will reach students the most.
The publication is an incentive to attend the event as they get to showcase their work, which will be sent out to creative directors in the area, possible employers.
It was very important for me to get Facebook and Twitter behind me as the majority of students are on these social media sites. They will be of great benefit to my event.
